Heartworm and Flea Preventatives
Heartgard is available for dogs and cats in chewable form, and for dogs only in tablet form. It's an effective treatment against heartworms, roundworms and hookworms and can be given to puppies and kittens as early as 6 weeks of age.

Nexgard is a monthly chew for dogs that protects against fleas and ticks. Nexgard can be given to puppies as young as 8 weeks old weighing 4 pounds or more.

Frontline Gold is a topical flea and tick preventative that is applied between the shoulder blades every 30 days. It is available for cats and dogs and may be used on kittens as young as 8 weeks of age and puppies at 10 weeks. Fleas on your pet should die within 48 hours of the Frontline application.

Revolution, for dogs and cats, is applied to the skin once monthly to help prevent heartworm disease. It prevents and controls flea infestations and ear mites in both species and is effective against the American Dog Tick in dogs.

It's used for the treatment of roundworms and hookworms in cats only. Revolution may be applied to puppies and kittens as young as 6 weeks of age.
